Photo Week: On Collins Pond
The first kayak of the season was delightful, the G7 performed brilliantly in its underwater housing and the frogs posed nicely for their close ups on Collins Pond in Harold Parker State Park. See it a little bigger at The Photo Week.

This week features a boating adventure out to see the whales in the Stellwagen Bank National Marine Sanctuary. The trips are different every time, but they are always sensational. Cuyahoga Valley National Park
Along with the 13 zoos in 12 days, we managed a visit to a heron rookery and bald eagle nesting site in Cuyahoga Valley National Park. Thanks for the personal tour guiding, Amy!
Photo Week: Lion Cubs at the Bronx Zoo
The Photo Week this week features the 13th and final zoo of our 11 zoos in 12 days marathon (we picked up 2 more along the route)…. If you missed the other 12 check out the Photo Week Archives! And since these adorable lion cubs won a combo of their own, below is a tribute to the also rans at the zoo on a day otherwise dominated by ooohs and ahhhh in Simba’s Village!

Lions, The Bronx Zoo. Zoo # 13 of 11 zoos in 12 days. I can’t think of a better way to cap off a great zoo adventure but with triplet lion cubs! Thank you Bronx Zoo, sensational display of cub-dom! Check back Sunday for the Photo Week combo filled with more cubs, lemurs and other highlights!

….we drove east…..and north, and east…..and east.

And found a new zoo!! Ohhhh…..Oh 11 zoos in 12 days just got bigger!!

Should we drive a few 30 miles out of the way to tack on another zoo? Why not? More like, Hell Yes!! What better way to breakup a 600 plus driving day but with a visit to ANOTHER zoo, a surprising and charming 2 hour visit at that, at the National Aviary! Seriously impressive Pittsburgh, Bravo… You had us at The Pittsburgh Zoo, we might just have to come back to your fine city again! As my co-pilot pointed out though, this DOES throw off the symmetry of 11 zoos in 12 days! With one maybe 2 to go, I’m not sure what to make of 12 in 12 days, or 13 in 12…. Do i hear 14 in 13?
